Background

Tabernacle Music is dedicated to promote original music, worship albums and major musical and prayer events, primarily in Malaysia. It is also a resource centre which provides free teaching materials on worship, music, songwriting and prayer. It is also an information center where you can find out the latest musical and prayer events in the country. There are now more than 5000 subscribers to this website. The website is 22 months old and has generated 256000 hits, with more than 36,000 visits over this short period.

The following are the latest Gospel Albums released in Malaysia.

1. Reprise - Geoffrey Woo
   Reprise is a collection of 12 songs by Geoffrey Woo. Geoffrey has been writing songs for 25 years and previously released 5 albums. Reprise is a retrospective collection of his previous works. Geoffrey is releasing this album to raise funds for his church building fund.
   
   

2. Totally You - Acts Church
   Totally You is a compilation of 5 worship songs written by young people for the ACTS Church. The title track Totally You is an outstanding worship song written by Alex Tan. In Your presence, written by Jay Loh and Ryan Foo is another good worship song. Another outstanding song in the album Child was written by Jay Loh. Child has an intimate touch to it. Sandra Chin, Worship Pastor of Acts Church sang most of the lead vocals.
   
   

3. All 4 Him - Band from members of SIB Church
   All 4 Him are a talented group of young Christians from the SIB church. The group consists of Patrick JohnnyAssun, Lenny, Joshua, Ruby, Tunung and Joe Endie. They produced this Malay album with 8 original songs from members of the SIB church. The songs are quite contemporary.

Artistes Review

1. Geoffrey Woo - Album Reprise
   
   Geoffrey Woo is a singer/composer, and has been in the music ministry for 20 years. He received this calling while he was an Engineering student in Melbourne, Australia. Upon completion of his studies, he returned to Malaysia and stepped out into the ministry and has been living by faith all these years. This is the special aspect of his ministry, to be evidence of God's ability to provide supernaturally.
   
   In those 20 years, Geoffrey has released 5 albums and 3 singles. The last album, REPRISE, is a retrospective album culled from his previous work. It is also a commemoration of 25 years of song-writing. Two of his singles have received radio air-play in Singapore, namely, JUST ONE LIFE Pt.II and MORE THAN LIFE. The latter single has literally traveled around the world, having been selected for the onboard programming on Singapore Airlines flights for one month.
   
   Throughout his ministry, Geoffrey has ministered in churches around Malaysia and Singapore, and has toured Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney in Australia, Manila in the Philippines, and Jakarta and Bali in Indonesia. In spite of all this, Geoffrey still manages to keep a low profile.
   
   
   

2. Michelle Tan - Album Better Days
   
   Michelle is one of Malaysia's youngest artiste emerging in Gospel Music. She comes from a very musical church, The Tabernacle of David. With such a background, she has written many worship songs at a young age. In 2001, aged 20 years, she released her debut solo album Better Days. She wrote all the songs in the album. Her songs are both exciting and fresh and has her own distinctive style. Michelle is set to become one of Malaysia's outstanding Christian artistes/songwriter in the years to come.

Wah Lok's Vision

Wah Lok will be travelling to various towns across Malaysia to conduct music and worship workshops, and share his vision for Malaysian Gospel Music. He believes it is time for Malaysian Gospel music to take a leap into the international scene. Songwriters must begin to write and use their songs in their local church services. He will be at the following towns this year.
