Day 18 - PRAYER AND WORSHIP, THE INSEPARABLE TWINS ?
Scripture Reading: Rev 5:8-9
Rev 5:8-10
8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood. Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.
Discussion
Harp is symbolic of worship and bowls of incense symbolic of prayer. Prayer and worship are almost inseparable. My personal view is that prayer is the deepest form of worship. Most musicians generally do not pray enough. The fact is some of us love music so much we could practice 2 hours in a band without any difficulty. But try getting your musicians to pray for half an hour before a music practice. Some of your musicians will start dropping out.
Prayer in the worship team is absolutely needed if you want your worship to take off. Otherwise, all you have is good music. Your congregation will be entertained but their lives will not be changed. Get your musicians to attend prayer meetings. This should be a priority. Schedule prayer into your practices. If you cannot commit to pray, you should not be in the worship team.
Prayer
Father, forgive me for my lack in prayer. I commit myself to prayer again. Help me to rise up early to pray every day and also to attend prayer meetings. I want to make prayer and worship my lifestyle.
