DAY 35 - HAVE YOU DONE A SPIRITUAL CHECK-UP FOR YOUR HEART ?

Scripture: 1 Samuel 13:13-14, Acts 13:22-23

1 Sam 13:13-14
13 And Samuel said to Saul, "You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which He commanded you. For now the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. 14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you."

Acts 13:22-23
22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, 'I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.' 23 From this man's seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior--Jesus--


Discussion

Do you have a friend who suffers from heart disease and needs a by pass ? Often times, they are short of breath as there is not enough oxygen in their body due to the weakness of the heart.

Many Christians suffer from spiritual heart disease. That is why they lack spiritual vitality and joy. Saul had this problem. His heart was not after God. God searched the entire kingdom and found David to be a man after his own heart. David became a great king because of this one attribute. Even when he sinned, his heart after God brought him to repentance.

David became the greatest worshipper of all time. If you want to be a great worshipper, you must be a "Man after God's heart"


Prayer

Father, I pray that I will be a man after Your heart. I pray my desires will be Your desires, my will, Your will, my dreams, Your dreams and my life, Your life.
