Greetings Bro. Wah Lok,
My name is Ricky and I am from Church of Praise, Singapore.
Our church has just released an CD alum entitled "In Your Presence" This album was the result of a unique visitation of His presence in our church in the year 2000; out of which the music and lyrics of this album was birthed. A copy of the CD cover attached for your information.
One of the purpose of this CD project was to bless churches with these ongs that the Lord has given. Is it possible to post the CD release in your website under Singapore Praise? We have actually circulated a free CD to all AGs churches in Singapore and could do likewise to church who wish to have a copy free via your website.
Look forward to your favourable advise.
Blessings

Hi there Mr. Wah Lok,
My name is Gabrielle (Gabby for short) and I'm from The Vineyard Church JB. If I'm not mistaken, you should know who my pastor is - Tay Wah Seng.
I've been in England for the last 9 months spending some time with a pretty well-known worship leader here called Lynn Swart. I've been travelling around the UK with her and my friend Tim singing along side her and just discipling under her. It's been a great 9 months. Over the course of these months I've also begun to write some songs that have been birthed through my walk with God in this period of time. I have also written some songs a few years ago.
Through these years, I've often wondered why God's given me these songs which have mostly stayed in my heart and computer. I must be honest to say that I don't really see many of the songs I've wrote to be songs that would be sung in a congregational worship setting as they are very much based on issues that I've come through in life.
I was able to do a simple recording just for fun while I was in the UK . My friend who's a very talented musician did the arrangements to this song for me. You can listen to it on my very simple website
www.gabbytham.com. It's called Lost In Your Love.
Many of my friends and even people whom I've just got to know in this 9 months in the UK and a month in the US who have heard this one song that I did asked me if I've got an album out yet. So the question of what do I do with these songs has ever so often risen in my mind.
Thank you very much.

Warmest Gretings pastor, as i surfing the net I found your precious website. It is really outstanding and amazing to know there is a web for local christian artists. as malasyian i really thank you for this wonderful effort in the lord.
Pastor, im PAul from bethany Aog Seberang jaya. WE have a church band called Radical Warriors. By God's grace, our musical team "Radical Warriors" has traveled to quite a number of places throughout the nation ministering in church functions, concerts, revival and evangelism meeting. We too have successfully produced 3 Tamil contemporary gospel albums namely 'Thevan Varugindrar'(The lord comes) , Thesethiley Yeluputhel('revival in the land) and un magimayai kaanbiyum (show me your glory)all *in tamil*.By now we are planning to relese and english and malay album very soon.
For your information ,in our church worship services we use only our own and traslated songs (from english). We are determine to sing According to the revelation that has been given to usby God .We are also not confine our songs and music to enthicity or cultural backround but break free to sing in modern and contemprory style. Many churches in Malaysia espeacially tamil churhces are using our own and traslated songs in their servies as we compile it in songbook form.as God use us more we are began to understand the only thing that qualify us not our talents but the grace of God and his presence.

Dear Pastor Wah Lok,
How glad I am to find your webpage and to know about your effort in promoting Malaysian Christian music! I praise and thank the Lord. I am a Christian staying here in Germany and am looking for a Christian song in Malay to introduce to my church community here but alas, I do not have any resources with me. I play the piano and am searching for some music notes for 2 to 3 easy-to-sing Malay Christian songs so that I can share it with my other Malaysian Christian friends here and hope to sing it to the church soon, in 2 weeks time. It would be wonderful if you do have any music notes of some Malay songs (not mp3 files please) that you could send to me via email. Thank you very much.

Dear Pastor Wah Lok,
My name is Jeffrey, I came across your Tabernacle Music website from CD at my church. Infact I've seen you perform at SoulCafe in bangsar once. The website is really an eye opener for me to know there are so many other bands and their music recorded in malaysia. Something I didn't know existed, maybe due to poor publicity or just my ignorance. Anyhow I share a similar vision as yours and I was really excited when I read it in your site. God bless the work you are doing and I truly hope to see it come to past.
I'm a musician in my church (Emmanuel AOG Tmn Maluri, Cheras) Its a very small church but I have a very excited amateur band and we have this wild wierd vision and I'm wondering if there's any suggestion/help/guidance/advice you could give us to follow.
My band name is ReEvolution. Our vision is to inspire people for radical intimate worship. To be used as instruments creating vibrant cutting edge music for God to touch hearts and change lives, bringing deliverance, healing and blessing. We have written some songs, i would say they are more to the laud guitar driven side and some slower songs as well. We actually wanted to have the kind of impact bands like Delirious, SonicFlood had in the states where people know off and come to concerts, in open air of Christian bands playing christian music worshippin God passionately. I know it sounds a lot but well thats what we hope to be, someday :) I have recorded 2 songs so far with limited resources i have using my computer. I thought I could use it as a raw example in the future for a better recording. Is there any good christian owned or related studios with reasonable pricing which you could recommend?
Any kind of help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again and all the best. God bless.
Regards,
Jeff

Dear Pastor Wah Lok,
How are you? Dunno if you still remember me since it was so long (almost a year) since we first met during the CDFM conference last year in November... I was one of your songwriting students.... Well, just thought I'd drop a few lines to say hi and see how things are with you... Also, just wanna say thanks for all the guidance... Um, yeah, was wondering how can I download the scoresheets from your website... I really liked "Flow Spirit Flow" but somehow I couldn't download it... Any pointers?
Well, think I'll just keep this short... I still have the picture we took together during the class... Only problem is, no scanner... Will send it to you when I can get it scanned or something...
That's all for now, I guess... Thanks for everything... It was quite rushed during the conference, but I've learned a lot... Well, God bless...

Dear Ng Wah Lok,
My name is Mike Yotter, I am on the worship team at Koke Mill Christian Church in Springfield, IL USA. We are making a worship album that has a mission and evangelism theme. Last year we were introduced to your song "Every time I Pray", and we would really like to use this song on our album. So we were wondering if we could get your permission to use it.
Our church has a real heart for missions. Currently we support 10 different missionary organizations. Included in this is Christians in Crisis with Pastor Wally Magdangal, International Friends of Compassion with Carl Cady, Living Word Missions in the Philippines with Brother Vincent Padupad, and Agape International with Chuck and Lisa Coy.
We would like to make something that is bigger than our church, or us as musicians. We want something that people outside of our area can relate to and be blessed by. The Lord has blessed our church with some very talented musicians and we would like to use that talent to lift up the name of Lord around the world.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Sincerely yours,
Mike Yotter

What a priveledge to have Pastor Ng Wah Lok in our church on 2nd evening and 3rd September 2004. I have learnt so much from Pastor Wah Lok's music & worship session. I have been attending AOG, KB for almost 10 years but have not been given any chance to serve in the forefront. Recently due to some reshuffling, I was given the opportunity to be one of the worship leaders. I just take it without knowing how but I trust The Lord. I believe God will do something in my heart, by faith I want to just serve The Lord in whichever ways I can. Pastor Wah Lok's session has opened my eyes and taught me how to be a true worshipper of God. Most importantly Pastor Wah Lok's humble beginning and his life have touched my heart.

Dear Pastor Wah Lok,
Thank you very much for replying to my email and thank you for your sharing and recommendations of your songs. I do greatly appreciate it very much. They are very lovely. I managed to listen to some of them as there were difficulties to download some of them.
Most or all songs have lyrics. I wonder if you do have these albums without lyrics? I mean with only the music, and played with musical instruments like piano, synthesizer or flute. They are my suggestions.
Looking forward to your reply.

Dear Pastor Wah Lok,
My name is Catherine Wong, and I am a member of SS Methodist Church in PJ. Recently I wrote a song for a seminar conducted in our church. The speaker, Mary Audrey Raycroft (Toronto Airport Church) liked it sufficiently to want to bring it with her for use in all subsequent "Releasers of Life" seminars (conducted in different countries).
I have been writing songs in the past, & they have mostly been used only in our church. So far I've only presented my songs before the Commissioner for Oaths to declare the authenticity & to get them dated. My pastor has suggested I inquire from you how to get songs copyrighted & if you charge royalties for songs used overseas. Would appreciate you help in this matter. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Catherine

Dear Pastor
I'm William Kok, I'm a guitarist from Aglow Assembly Subang Jaya Section 15. By God's Grace this is my 8th years serving as a guitarist in the church worship team and also playing the role of a guitar instructor. My major of study is in engineering but 2 years ago God has placed in my heart a desire to commit myself in the area of teaching. My first task was to serve as a voluntary teacher in House of Joy, Puchong and from there onward, my musical journey started.

I conduct private music lessons as well as group training. And I have the opportunity to serve as a music instructor in Full Gospel Tabernacle - Subang Jaya and Malaysia Youth For Christ. My desire is to share my own designed Christian music syllabus, and train more guitarists to serve in the church and cell group and also hoping to share my vision with guitarist to reach out with the talent God placed in us. I have some MP3 for my guitar solo, but i don't want to jam your mail box's capacity, you can download it from my website, www.music-maker.biz.ly or you can send me a reply mail as a green light, I will send it to you.

Hi Wah lok,
My name is Lloyd and I've been on your mailing list for a number of years. I actually play with a band called Parousia (www.parousianet.com), and we have been in ministry as a band for the past eleven years.
We released a full length album in 2002, and are on the verge of releasing a 4 song EP at the end of the month. We also went overseas to Hong Kong and Mongolia for ministry work in 2002 and 2003 respectively, working with organizations like YFC and Campus Crusade for Christ. We are mostly in our late twenties and we have a heart for reaching out especially to youth.
I felt led to write to you to ask if perhaps there might be any churches or organizations in neighbouring Malaysia that we could serve? Our ministry is not full time, but if God willing, we will make the time to come over to serve.
In Christ,
Lloyd Chia

While your focus is on promoting Christian music in Malaysia -- would you be able to help answer the following questions, with regards to an Australian group intending to market their albums in Malaysia.:
This group from Whitford church, Perth in Australia has been coming out with some fantastic praise and worship music. They have asked me to look into album distribution rights for them in Malaysia...they have already done a few major rallies in Penang and on the mainland of Penang state, this year.

Dear Wah Lok,
Greetings in the precious name of our LORD. I do not know if u last received my letter tt i wrote u after we learnt your song on prayer tt became the theme song for our prayer meeting.
I recall reading in your testimony tt to this day, all members in serving capacity attend the prayer meeting (which means all leaders are definitely included) n tt u have prayer meets 2x a week??
Prayer has often been accepted to be the weakest area in most churches. We would appreciate some pointers from u as to how u manage to motivate n bring your church to such a pt where prayer is priotised (duly so)...some expected setbacks eg some leaders might step down if attending prayer meets is compulsory...
Presently we've set up a prayer committee n are looking into all ways where we can excite , motivate n mobilise the church to be a church of prayer. By far, yours is the only testimony i've read where people in all serving capacity eg praise band singers even come regularly for prayer meets. What do u do with those who dont???
Would appreciate a quick reply from u as this Saturday afternoon we are having a Vision meeting for all council members n i would like to make mention on this area of prayer. I hope to share some of the ideas, expected struggles n setbacks from u too. From your experience, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
In His joyous service,
Soo Ying

Hi Ps. Wah Lok,
Myself, well I'm from Penang. I have been a Christian for more than 15 years. I'm currently attending a non-denominational church in Penang. You can read more about me at my website at http://www.briangan.com
Yes, the album was recorded professionally at HiTS Recording Studios - the premier recording studio in Penang and one of the top 5 studios in Malaysia. This is the same place where the SAND album was produced. Seeing that the album is an instrumental featuring the guitar as a solo instrument, there is not much one can notice about the professionalism of the recording - it's only one instrument.

Anyway, I am interested in aquiring some of your new CD's, can you steer me in the right direction for these? I would greatly appreciate it. I just downloaded your daily worship devotions, and will introduce it out team.
Thank you for the great resources.

Hi Pastor
My name is Caroline Michael. I have subcribed to your newsletter and find them very comforting and encouraging. I love the song "For Everytime I Pray". May God bless you in all you do.
I have a question and need some advice. Is it difficult to record an album in Malaysia? I come from a small church-around 20-25people (Jesus Loves Christian Fellowship) where i am in-charge of the worship team. I have composed 5 of my own songs whereby 2 of it we do sing in church. My Pastor's wife has also composed a few songs of her own. We planned to record an album together.
I also want to know of any vocal training available for myself and my team of 5 girls. I have tried certain measures but so far, there is a little improvement. Truth be told... they are bad in hitting the right keys and pitches. I am 22 and my team is ranging from 15-21 yrs old. Our church has more women than men.
I have consulted my Pastor and of course he has adviced me in certain areas and have asked me to also do some research myself.
Need some advice. Thank you Pastor.
In His love,
Carol

Dear Pr. Wah Lok,
How are you brother? This is Edmund. I hope you still remember me. We met and we traded CDs last year at church. Remember?
A few months after that I spoke to you about recording my first professional album but things didn't take off from that conversation.
But I praise God when I returned to Melaka, my pastor from my home church the Salvation Army, Melaka; Pr. Paul Ong introduced me to GeckoMusic who is headed by Daniel Foo. For about 6 months we have been working on my album which was officially lanched on the 13th of March.
The album is called WAKE UP. It is a compilation of my life story and my experiences. The album consist of a variety of styles including funk, jazz and so on.
I just want to share with you this good news. I hope you will get hold of the CD when you see it.
A friend of mine, Pr. Karen told me that you mentioned to her about me. Is that true? If that is true, I am surprise that you remember me.
By the way, is it possible for me to get my CD advertise in your Website?
God bless you. Hope to hear from you.
in HIM alone,
Edmund

Dear Pastor Wah Lok,
Hello! Thank you for both your emails which I received. I stumbled upon your website while searching for other praise and worship mp3s and I almost couldn't believe it because we have sung 'Everytime I Pray' at least a couple times in our CF, both in English and Mandarin. So it was quite amazing to land on the website of the person who actually wrote the song! I'll be graduating from USM in a few weeks time and in my years here I served as a worship leader/musician both in the CF and in the local church, so I found your articles on praise and worship and song-writing very interesting. Right now I'm busy with finals but I will probably check back again when I have more free time. Anyway, thank you for setting up this resource center and may God continue to bless your ministry.
Warmest regards,
Christina

Hi Wah Lok,
Thank you for your music.. I bought your Every time I pray when you came to Plaza Pantai fellowship. I also met H.T. Long and enjoyed his singing...
My pastor wishes me to lead in praise worship. I don't feel confident... I just love praise worship but won't say I am a great singer... I am praying about it and hope to be bold enough to start...
Thank you again for this website...
God Bless You!

I am a music professor at Southeastern Seminary in North Carolina. I love your music. I was wondering if you have accompaniments of your music available - I am singing at an ordination service next Sunday and I would love to share the song, Approved in Every Way, with the congregation. Of course, you would be listed composer in the program and I will continue to share this website with others.
Thanks for letting me know,

Dear Pastor Wah Lok,
Thanks so much for this article which was not only informational but encouraging!
If we haven't said it before, we are most appreciative of your efforts all these years to 'grow' the local Christian music industry.
I agree that we need also to increase our presence in the mass media, and we have already received testimonies of people who have yet to make the decision to trust in Christ being touched by hearing Altered Frequency on radio. This is only one of the many Christian artistes and we believe that collectively, the Lord will use us as a powerful force for advancing His kingdom in this nation.
Let us continue to press on because our labour in the Lord is not in vain.
Wish you could have been there at the Launch. = )
God bless.
Sincerely,
Juwita

Hi Pastor Wah Lok
Thank you for your update in the local Christian music realm. At the recent Ordination service of our Pr. Ronnie Chiu and Pr. Edward Ha, we have translated your song 'Approved in every way' into Mandarin. If you wish to have a copy of Mandarin version, we will be more than happy to provide you with the translation. In fact, if there is any changes to it after you view it, we would like to have the edited copy. We thank God for that song which has ministered and encouraged many servants of the Lord.

Dear Pastor Wah Lok,

Hello, my name is Helena. I have just read your article, The Development of the Gospel Music Industry in Malaysia and it has triggered an excited response within me to write you. It is wonderful to see growth and purpose in the lives of Malaysian Christian musicians and songwriters.

I am a closet songwriter. I have been writing Christian songs for a number of years and I have just returned from the United States. Recently, I attended and played two my songs for some of the Integrity Songwriters with very positive response. I also met with Glen Pakiam and as a result of that conference I am very challeneged to nurture this talent.

However, certain events brought me back to Malaysia. Since coming home a few months ago, there is an intense drive in me to record my songs. Reading about the local people in the business(through your website) has encouraged me greatly to continue dreaming my dream... On that note, I would like to ask if there is any advice or suggestions that you can give me on what steps to take in networking, finding studio people to work with, cost, etc. In essence, I am looking for the "who", "where" and "how-to"... of recording an album.

I hope you can help. Thank you for your web-site. And most of all, thank you for being a blessing to Malaysian Christian song-crafters and musicians at this time.
Regards,
Helena Fernandez

Allo... Wishing you a blessed morning and hope you slept well in His arms...

My name is Regina and I am actually from an Anglican background... not that it matters I think. But I felt the need to make that point as I felt maybe you it would give you a better understanding about me : ). I come from a traditional church as opposed to TOD or Acts Church and so forth. So hence my discovery and love for contemporary Christian music was a slow progression but growing fast - maybe it's the exposure to Andy from Altered Frequency or something... hehehe... - he's a good friend.

Anyway... I enjoyed going through your website and was touched by your testimonies and songs you have written. Indeed we are hungry for Christian music and it's not that there aren't any musicians or song writers... but there has not been an avenue to bring them forth, till now.
I want to commend you for your efforts and may His favour continue to shine upon you and your ministry.

To be very honest, I have written a few songs... more like just the words but no lyrics... I am music illiterate... nothing to scream and shout about... I have passed them to Andy to see if he can do anything with it... but as you said, Altered Frequency is busy touring so I suppose in God's time something may come out of it. I have already told God, that if it is His will that I am suppose to share it with others, then I will. But if no, then it will remain to be love poems from me to Him.

Anyway... just thought of sharing a few words with you.
Never stop dancing with the Lord!
Warm Regards,
Regina Robin

Your album "Shining Stars" caught my attention as at that time our church just started a preschool called "Charis Shining Stars." The song "We're Here by Grace" applies so meaningfully to the hurdles, difficulties and hard work that we faced and had overcome during the initial work in Shining Stars. Thank you for this beautiful song!

Dear Wah Lok,
I am residing in the state of California in the U. S. A. I would like to purchase a copy of Shining Stars if possible. Can yo advise me how I might do this?

Your website is wonderful and very encouraging, full of information and your wisdom. I too have a vision for the prospering of international music, although my calling is more in the area of prophetic movement and dance, but through that I have acquired a desire for music that has flavor, characteristics or language of the nation from which it originates. I have a vision of recording music from nations, as well as providing a website for distribution of those materials and worship C.D.'s from nations. But for now, I woulf likwe very much to share the song about "her dancing feet" from your albumn with a friend who has a miracle daughter.
Thank you very much,

Brother Wah Lok,
I just read your devotion IS YOUR MUSIC DIET BALANCED? I tend to agree with you. But I come from the "other direction" with hymns and Praise & Worship music. I am the music leader in our small country church in the mountains of North Carolina. Over the past few years I've had to "break the ice" of singing ONLY hymns in our services.

Don't get me wrong, I love the old hymns of the Faith. Many have special meaning for me. I was saved while singing "Just As I Am" when I was 18. But I believe we do a disservice to our congregation and to God if we limit ourselves to singing traditional hymns only.

The word "contemporary" causes some to shutter. But we fail to realize that the old hymns written in the 1600s, 1700s, and 1800s were just that--contemporary for their times! And while we can sing them with great relavence still today, I believe God has given music to be written for today's contemporary vein also. Praise and Worship choruses such as, "Shout To The Lord," "Awesome God," and "Amazing Love" are beautiful "hymns" that can prepare one's heart for worship, too.

We are now mixing both types--traditional and contemporary--in our worship services, which is the way I'd like to continue it. And I do not do that as a compromise with some in the congregation. I do it because I love all of God's music, and I want others to experience that. I think it's that "balance" you speak of.

When you look in my personal music library you will find everything from The Cathedrals, The Kingsmen, Amy Grant, and Gaither, to Petra, White Heart, and Steve Camp, to DC Talk, Newsboys, Skillet, and Apologetix. I am 53 years old and I love it all.

"Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow..." including His great variety of music!
Charlie Moore

Hi Pastor Wah Lok,

I just surfed up onto your website, and was intrigued by the reviews of Christian SIngaporean songwriters and all.

I have been writing songs since I was 17 or 18 (i think.. and I'm 22 now) and I was wondering if you had any contacts for budding Christian songwriters like me? Or if you knew where I could get my songs heard or anything like that?

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I am still going through the devotions, and my convictions and desire for genuine, Godly worship just gets stronger everyday! I really thank God for you. I pray that more and more people will be touched by your ministry, and that God will anoint you to be a greater blessing for the people around you as well. Praise God!

Dear Pastor Wah Lok,
It's been a pleasure getting to surf in your website and i've been really blessed. I've just started song writing because God has been planting new songs in my heart this few weeks..and I would say i'm quite shocked because I have no music background though i do play a guitar. But God has imspired me to write songs and i've already composed 3 songs so far.

I've been praying for the past weeks about song writing because i have no idea what to do next and what i'm suppose to do. Praise God He has led me to surf in your website. I mean i was like.."Wow! Goad has answered my prayers!" I would like to share with you this too. er..this is not an inquiry email and i don't know where else i can contact you...just to share with you about song writing. Well..as I said I was praying about what should I do next and everything and i happened to bump into oops! asia website. And there it was an announcement asking interested song writers to submit their written songs in and everything..another "wow!" i would say. But now I just have to write the musci because as I've had i have no musical background and i need some musically inclined people to help me in writing down the melody and music and everything. SO i'm still seeking the Lord and Praise God for you and your ministry. You have taught me alot through your website. Thank you!

Love-in-CHrist,
Dewgem Yen
